Microsoft Windows Server

It is one the operating systems that runs on servers. A server is a computer that runs programs that provide services such as: Web Servers, SQL Database Server, Email Server, etc. One of the main features on Microsoft Windows Server is that it gives more priority to its services than to desktop interaction. In fact, a server usually does not have a physical display or keyboard attached to it. Additionally, Windows Server does not waste CPU processing on creating visual effects typically used Microsoft Windows for personal computers.

The hardware of the server

Microsoft Windows Server is installed in computers that have resources that can be used continuously (this implies that they can dissipate heat avoiding the overheating of the server). Servers are located in a special room with air condition, special voltage regulation and uninterrupted power sources. Additionally, they typically have a backup power supply, several hard drives, and several processors (such as Xeon). The operating system and the hardware allow removing from the server (or adding) memory and hard drives without turning off the server. This feature is supported only in some versions of Microsoft Windows Server.

Microsoft Windows Server es instalado en computadoras que tienen recursos que pueden ser usados en forma continua (esto implica que estos pueden dispar calor evitando el sobrecalentamiento del servidor). Los servidores están ubicados en un cuarto especial con aire acondicionado, regulación especial de voltaje y fuente de energía ininterrumpida. To copy files to a remote Microsoft Windows Server you must:

Open Windows Explorer
Type the path of the remote Server as shown in the example
You will be prompt for the username and password an account in the remote server
